Quentin Tarantino is “not in a huge rush” to make his latest film

Quentin Tarantino appears in “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” this week to talk about cinema and explains why his 10th film will undoubtedly be his last.

“I’ve been doing it for 30 years and it’s time to close the show. You know, it’s… I’ve done it, I’ve given it my whole life. And you know, I didn’t start a family until the end of my life.” , Tarantino told CNN’s Wallace. “I’ve always matched if you’re making films at the level that I’ve been making. In fact, the level that I’ve been allowed to make. It’s, I’m wrong about climbing, and so this film is my Mt. Everest, and this movie is Kilimanjaro, and this movie is Fuji. And I’ve spent all this time on the mountain and I’m an entertainer. I want to leave you wanting more.”

The director of “Kill Bill” added that he does not want to lose contact with the fans of his films or with what is happening in the world.

“I don’t want to become this old man who’s out of touch … I already feel a little bit like an old man out of touch when it comes to the current movies that are coming out right now. And that’s what happens. That that’s exactly what happens,” he said.

Tarantino said that while he knows how many films he will make, he has no idea what the last one will be about.

“I’m not in a huge rush to make my last film either,” he told Wallace. “So I’ve got my book, I’m doing a few other things, and then I’ll figure out what the next movie is going to be.”

It’s also finding out what its idea of a movie is now, with more and more people using streaming services to watch movies instead of going to the theater.

“Right now, I don’t even know what a movie is. Is it something that streams on Netflix? Is it something that streams on Amazon and everybody wants and people watch it on the couch with their wife or husband ? Is that a movie? Because my last movie opened in 3,000 theaters and played all over the world for a couple of months,” he said. “Now the fact is that I don’t have the answer to this question, but I don’t think anyone else does either. I think the situation remains to be seen and so in a few years I will know what the films will be.”

New episodes of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” debuts Friday on HBO Max and Sunday on CNN at 7pm ET.
