Lily-Rose Depp is familiar with fame.
As the daughter of actor Johnny Depp and singer Vanessa Paradis, she grew up fully aware of celebrity, though she told Elle magazine in a recently published interview: “My parents protected my brother. [Jack] and I of it as much as possible.”
Now, as a model and actress set to star in the upcoming series, “The Idol,” the 23-year-old explains why she didn’t speak out publicly during her father’s trial with ex-wife Amber. listened to
“When it’s something so private and so personal that all of a sudden it doesn’t become so personal … I feel really entitled to my secret garden of thoughts,” the younger Depp told Elle. “I also believe that I’m not here to answer for anyone, and I feel like for a lot of my career, people have wanted to define me by the men in my life, whether it’s my family members or my boyfriends, whatever. . . and I’m really ready to define myself for the things that I put out there.”
Paradis is a star in her native France and Depp has spoken of how she idolized her mother as a child.
Now he is blazing his own trail, having appeared in several productions such as the 2019 film, “The King.”
Depp said he finds celebrity “a weird thing to navigate.”
“It’s different to experience it firsthand than vicariously,” he said. “I guess it’s something I’ve had to work my way through.”
