American Music Awards 2022: How to watch and more


The 50th annual American Music Awards will take place on Sunday night.

The event celebrates some of the best music and performances of the year, with winners voted on by fans.

Actor, producer and musician Wayne Brady will bring his talents to the stage to headline the event.

Viewers can tune in to see performances from Pink, Dove Cameron, Lil Baby, Bebe Rexha, Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons and more.

Meanwhile, 17-time AMA winner Lionel Richie will be honored with the Icon Award, marking his career contribution to the music industry. Charlie Puth, Stevie Wonder and other artists will take the stage in tribute performances to Richie.

Look for appearances by Dan & Shay, Dustin Lynch, Ellie Goulding, Jimmie Allen, Karrueche Tran, Kelly Rowland, Latto, Meghan Trainor, Melissa Etheridge, Niecy Nash-Betts, Roselyn Sanchez, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Smokey Robinson and more.

Bad Bunny leads the nominations for the event. The show, produced by Dick Clark Productions and ABC, noted in a press release that Bad Bunny would tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year if it ends up winning in all its nominated categories.

Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift each have six nominations, while Adele, Harry Styles and The Weeknd each have five.

A pre-show red carpet special will air on beginning at 6:30 pm ET, with the show live on ABC at 8 pm ET.
