Aaron Carter Remembered: Backstreet Boys and Melanie Martin Pay Tribute

The death of Aaron Carter last weekend at the age of 34 continues to cause an outpouring of grief from friends, family and fans of the late recording artist.

After posting an Instagram tribute to his younger brother, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter broke down in tears during the band’s show at London’s O2 Arena, according to several videos shared on social media.

“We have heavy hearts tonight because we lost one of our family members yesterday. And we just wanted to find a moment at our show to acknowledge him.” Backstreet Boy member Kevin Richardson said. “Nick’s younger brother, Aaron Carter, passed away yesterday [34] years. He is part of our family. Thank you guys for all the love and all your well wishes and all your support.”

The group hugged Elder Carter in support.

Aaron Carter’s former fiancee and mother to his young son, Prince, uploaded a TikTok video of herself crying over the news of his death. She also shared a video of Carter dancing for her audience on social media with the caption, “Forever posting.”

Rapper The Game posted on his verified Instagram account that he was moved by Nick Carter’s post about his brother and decided to share a story he had about Aaron Carter.

According to the artist, he had been traveling with his then young son and his son’s mother for years when they realized they had a seat left in first class, which had been overbooked.

The Game recalled Carter saying, “Hey, you guys got a little man … you can have my seat, Game.”

“At this point my first album had dropped and I still wasn’t sure everyone knew who I was, so every new ‘Game’ called out was fresh and made me feel like I’d accomplished something great,” The Game wrote.

Carter went to sit in the coach section of the plane and The Game decided to join him, he wrote, where the pair would talk for the next six hours of the flight.

“I remember thinking how cool it was to talk to a guy I saw on MTV a million times who my little sister loved to death because again I had just become a star so that was super dope ” The Game wrote. “We got to know each other very well on that flight, exchanged mate numbers and always hugged each other when we saw each other over the years.”

He also had a message for Nick Carter and the family.

“Love and condolences are with you, your family and their child during this difficult time and beyond,” The Game wrote to the Backstreet Boy member. “Always hit me, FOREVER.”

Aaron Carter’s cause of death is pending further investigation, according to the LA County Coroner.
